Setting up your Outlook

How to set up Outlook 2003

  1. With Outlook 2003 open, select Tools from the top menu bar.
     
  2. Select E-Mail Accounts from the drop down menu. The following window will open: E-mail Accounts
  3. Select View or change existing e-mail accounts and click Next. The following window will open: E-mail Accounts
  4. Select the Xynapse mail account name and click Change. The following window will open: Select Xynapse Account
  5. Make sure your User Information and Logon Information appears in the appropriate locations, and that "mail.xynapse.ca" is listed in both Incoming and Outgoing mail server locations. Select More Settings. The following window will open: General Information
  6. Select the Outgoing Server tab. The following window will open: Outgoing Server
  7. Ensure your settings are as indicated above. Select the Advanced tab at the top of the window. The following page is displayed: Advanced Tab
  8. Ensure the settings are as indicated above and click OK. The following page is displayed: POP3
  9. Click on Test Account Settings. If all settings are correct, the following page is displayed: Account Settings
  10. If there are any errors, please review all your settings again. If a problem still persists, please contact Xynapse IT Support Services with the appropriate error information. Click Close. You will be returned to the following window:
  11. Click Next. Click Finish on the final window.
